pre-wmc rush - trying not to crack!
Howdy everyone 
As always, doing my mandatory monthly check-in! So much craziness has happened that I don’t know where to start, but I’ll have to try! My main remix of “Light The Sky” by Matt Cerf, Shawn Mitiska, & Jaren has been played on Armin Van Buuren’s mixshow “A State of Trance” TWICE, second time as the Tune of the Week. This is my first ASOT play and it feels great! So a GIANT thank you to everyone who has LTS on their myspace players and everything - makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Make sure you go to Shawn, Matt, and Jaren’s myspaces as well to show them some lovin’ - they’re all immensely talented and I feel so blessed to be friends with these great people.
Since so many people have been asking about it, “Light The Sky” is released Monday on Baroque Recordings on vinyl and digital - so you can either buy the vinyl on Juno, DanceRecords.com (among other online vinyl stores), or from any of the usual digital suspects like Beatport. Check out the Harry Peat remix too, the dude is brilliant. I did another remix as well (called the “Light The Sidechain Remix”) under Chris Norman, an alias I reserve for my trancier productions…that one was played on ASOT as well just yesterday! That one should be available digitally.
And since there has also been a couple of questions about it, Armada Music has picked the track up for distribution - we don’t know a release date or exactly which of the remixes are going on that one, but it’s happening! I’ll keep you all updated as I become privvy to the information.
As always, I’ve been crazy busy in the studio - just put the finishing touches on a remix of “Serenity” by Burufunk ft. 3PM which is coming out at the beginning of April on Undermine Records. We’ve gotten some great feedback from the likes of Paul Oakenfold and Armin Van Buuren, so it’s bound to be a fantastic release. I’m also finishing up two brand spankin’ new remixes of Gabriel & Dresden’s “Tracking Treasure Down”, a vocal mix and a dub. It’s some bloopy jammin’ craziness, and it’s some of the best work I’ve ever done! I’m going to be blasting it down in Miami, so make sure ya’ll keep a lookout for it. I’m not so sure if it’ll get a release, but I assure you it’ll get heard and ya’ll will love it! I’ve got a nice long laundry list of remixes that i’m trying to finish up before WMC, so hopefully by the time I’m down there I’ll be all chock-full of new news to share with you all on that front. And yes, the “Going Down” follow-up should be done then too
Speaking of WMC, I will be down there from Wednesday night to Sunday, and I already have a gig on Thursday morning, but I’m trying to get more! I’ll communicate where and when to you all as soon as I learn what’s going on, but for now just keep your eyes peeled to the upcoming events part of my myspace. Since it’s my first time down there I don’t really know how much craziness is really involved, but I’m going to try to meet as many people as I can, so if you’d like to meet up somewhere please send me a myspace message or a shout on AIM (screen name is Retrobyte) and we’ll try to set something up.
A HUGE thank you goes to everyone who’s friended me and sent me messages in the past couple of weeks! I’m trying really really hard to keep up with messages, but unfortunately I can’t go as quickly as I’d like to because I’m right in the middle of crunch-time for WMC and my job at the store has gotten a little nuts. I’ll get around to responding to everyone, I promise! If you REALLY need to talk to me, just hit me up on AIM - I’m always on there and will always respond if I’m around. Same thing with friending people - I get behind because I try my hardest to check everyone out and leave comments personally (instead of sending a mass message to everybody). So don’t worry, I’m doing what I can!
