My recent collaboration with DJ Shah is on Armin Van Buuren’s A State of Trance 2007 album! The song is called “Who Will Find Me” and the lyrics are below. I’m posting the radio edit and the sunrise version here, but I hope you’ll check out DJ Shah’s page to hear the acoustic version which I also love! Our collaboration:
DJ Shah found me online and invited me to co-write a song for his upcoming album. I listened to his songs and they sounded fabulous. His latest work was remixing Sarah Mclachlan’s Wintersong album… how could I refuse!
So, he sent me a track with some beats, chords and the main guitar line that’s part of the final track. I brainstormed a bunch of melodic and lyrical ideas, recorded them all, and emailed them to him. We picked the best ones, then I finished the lyrics and recorded the vocals in my home studio. I emailed that track back to him, and waited. Then… he surprised me by making seven different arrangements of the song. They all sounded amazing.
And another thing I think is amazing is the fact that we did this whole collab without ever meeting in person. He was in Germany; I was in the US. Email was the link. But we feel almost like we met because we emailed so much and he’s a really nice person.
The song was signed to Armada records and set to be released on DJ Shah’s album which is so exciting. And then it also got onto Armin Van Buuren’s A State of Trance 2007 album! (I hear he’s the second most famous DJ in the world! That blows my mind.)
Just yesterday I stumbled upon a video on youtube of Armin Van Buuren in this huge crowded amphitheater spinning…guess what? —– “who will find me”!

I agree – this is just an incredible song. For me it is right up there with with other uplifting trance like Van Dyk’s Nothing But You and Tiesto’s mix of Oakenfold’s Summer Sun.

I’ve been listening to this song for almost a year and it still is one my top favorites!
Beautiful story how this song was created.. just through collaboration through email.. its amazing! Kudos to DJ Shah and to your excellent vocals Adrina! beats are awesome, vocals are mesmerizing!
