NEW YORK, NY, For Immediate Release - Those hungry Madonna fans around the world are about to get a very tasty treat when they unwrap Madonna’s ‘HARD CANDY’ CD on April 29th. Her Madgesty’s 11th studio album for Warner Bros. Records follows up her “Confessions on a Dance Floor” CD which debuted at No. 1 in 30 countries and sold over 8 million copies. ‘HARD CANDY’ has been described as a yummy up-tempo collection of 12 musical delights with Madonna remaining firmly ensconced in dance floor mode with an added hip-hop beat with the help of her musical collaborators Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams of the Neptunes and Nate “Danja” Hills.
The pulsating first single ‘4 Minutes’ (co-written and co-produced by Madonna, Timbaland and Justin Timberlake) has been the Number 1 track on iTunes and Amazon since its release. On the international front, ‘4 Minutes’ has reached the No. 1 spot in the UK, Italy and Germany and is No. 1 most downloaded single on iTunes in the UK, France, Germany, Australia, Canada, Ireland, Belgium, Holland, Finland, Spain, New Zealand, Switzerland and Sweden. The song has also climbed to No. 1 on the overall European Airplay Chart.
Madonna is scheduled to debut material from ‘HARD CANDY’, which has already received four stars in Rolling Stone and Blender, at a free show at New York’s famed Roseland Ballroom on the evening of April 30th. The special event, presented by Verizon Wireless, Control Room and MSN is scheduled to air live on MSN Music In Concert (music.msn.com). Lucky fans will be able to line up at Roseland the day of the show for chance to see Madonna perform. The Olympia in Paris will be the location for another Madonna show for her fans on May 6th.
