Insert SWF with DreamWeaver CS4 does not work in IE7 on ASP pages – Nested Object error

I used DreamWeaver CS4 to install a flash swf animation into a asp page. I have html pages on the site the swf plays no problem. I received the following error.

Active Server Pages error ‘ASP 0139’

Nested Object

/index.asp, line 86

An object tag cannot be placed inside another object tag.

Here’s CS4 code:

<object id="FlashID" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="930" height="178">
<object id="FlashID" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="930" height="178"> <param name="movie" value="Copy of 0245_intro.swf" /> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <param name="wmode" value="opaque" /> <param name="swfversion" value="6.0.65.0" /> <!-- This param tag prompts users with Flash Player 6.0 r65 and higher to download the latest version of Flash Player. Delete it if you don’t want users to see the prompt. --> <param name="expressinstall" value="../scripts/expressInstall.swf" /> <!-- Next object tag is for non-IE browsers. So hide it from IE using IECC. --> <!--[if !IE]>--> <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="Copy of 0245_intro.swf" width="930" height="178"> <!--<![endif]--> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <param name="wmode" value="opaque" /> <param name="swfversion" value="6.0.65.0" /> <param name="expressinstall" value="../scripts/expressInstall.swf" /> <!-- The browser displays the following alternative content for users with Flash Player 6.0 and older. --> <div> <h4>Content on this page requires a newer version of Adobe Flash Player.</h4> <p><a href="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer"><img src="http://www.adobe.com/images/shared/download_buttons/get_flash_player.gif" alt="Get Adobe Flash player" width="112" height="33" /></a></p> </div> <!--[if !IE]>--> </object> <!--<![endif]--> </object>

Here’s CS3 code:

<script type="text/javascript">

AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase','http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,28,0','width','930','height','178','src','Copy of 0245_intro','quality','high','pluginspage','http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash','movie','Copy of 0245_intro' ); //end AC code

</script><noscript><object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,28,0" width="930" height="178">

<param name="movie" value="Copy of 0245_intro.swf" />

<param name="quality" value="high" />

<embed src="Copy of 0245_intro.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="930" height="178"></embed>

</object></noscript>

It works fine on HTML pages. It’s no problems with CS3. Do you see the difference? Of course not. Because both are totally different! CS3 is utilizing javascript whereas CS4 isn’t. The best deal is “Embed SWF in CS3.”
