RIP VW (2001-2010) – I mean V and W trains

RIP V & W (2001-2010)

This June 25, 2010 will be the last day for these two train lines, V and W. Ten years of servicing Astoria (2001-2010), ironically enough, MTA decided to eliminate these two lines which run through Astoria, Queens. However, no services were cut in either Brooklyn and the Bronx yet. Did they plan this on purpose? What have Astorians done to deserve this? Really?

The W train which is running local in Manhattan will be replaced by the N, and the V train is also replaced by the M which is running from Middle Village, Queens to Manhattan and then looping back to Forest Hills, Queens again. Lastly, the G train that rarely runs to Astoria will now terminated at Court Square. What a useless train! This is just amazing IMO. Below is the subway map as of June 2010.
