You can’t just dump peanut sauce on top of a dish and call it Thai.
When I ask others what they think of when they think of Thai food, I commonly get responses involving peanut sauce (vegetables and pineapple with peanut sauce, noodles with peanut sauce, beef covered in peanut sauce, etc). I think it’s safe to say after a year of cooking Thai food that none of these are typical Thai dishes. I’m not even sure they’re Thai dishes at all, although I can certainly understand the temptation to smother anything and everything with this delicious sauce.
WHEN WILL THEY EVER FUCKING LEARN? If you have a chance to go to Thailand, don’t be surprised if you don’t see peanut sauce in your Pad Thai. Why? Cuz nobody eats it that way, and they never will. It’s disgusting. There’s no peanut sauce in Pad Thai recipe ever! Only crush peanut. Got it? Also don’t try to be oriental by eating Pad Thai with chopsticks. USE FORK!
Also, don’t even think that you look cool by eating other Thai food with chopsticks. You’re making a fool of yourself. We have evolved! Fork and spoon (spoon mostly) have been used in Thailand for centuries now!
